Profit of NBS in 2015 RSD 34.3 billion

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) had a profit of around RSD 34.3 billion after tax in 2015, announced the NBS in its 2015 Annual Report on Activities and Results.
The profit of NBS in 2014 was RSD 80.7 Billion, and in 2013 the central bank recorded a loss of RSD 43.6 billion.
The most significant income and expenses of the NBS in 2015 were interest income and expenses. Interest income amounted to RSD 12.3 billion, and interest expenses amounted to 6.8 billion.
Net interest income amounted to RSD 5.5 billion, which is 6.5 billion more than in 2014.
Net fee and commission income amounted to RSD 4 billion, whereas the income from the activities of the Institute for Manufacturing Banknotes and Coins amounted to RSD 5.2 billion.
Staff costs on the NBS amounted to RSD 4.4 billion.
Net foreign exchange gains and positive currency clause effects amounted to RSD 37 billion.
The governor of the NBS Jorgovanka Tabakovic said in the Annual Report that the NBS secured the stability of prices and the financial system, as well as a relative stability of the foreign exchange rate “in a year full of challenges coming from the international surroundings”.
She emphasized that the strengthening of price stability and the maintenance of financial stability remained the main tasks of the NBS and that the bank would continue to contribute to the country’s economic prosperity, the stability of its business and investment environment and lower costs of activities and the financing of all market participants.
