A group of students at the Eindhoven University of Technology has developed a radical electric bike Storm Pulse, with a 380 km driving range, which is the first bike meant for long distance driving. They have set a goal for themselves to travel the world in 80 days by it.
Their motorbike boasts an innovative modular battery package, which enables riders to switch them in a couple of minutes. At shorter distances, only a part of the package can be used in order to make the bike lighter and easier to steer.
The bike's pneumatic system, called “the Tesla among motorbikes” was chosen based on the results of the tests. The Dunlop Radsmart III pneumatic system was chosen due to its ability to travel up to 82% more than the competition, and endurance is the key factor for the project which envisions traversing 26,000 km of the most difficult roads of the world.
