According to the index of the World Economic Forum (WEF), which measures the readiness for using information and communications technologies (ICT), Serbia has placed 75th of 139 countries of the world this year, which is an improvement from last year's 77th place.

In 2014, Serbia placed 80th, and a year earlier it placed 87th.

According to the index of availability of the latest technologies, Serbia placed 107th, based on the use of social networks it placed 68th, and based on the number of individuals using the internet it placed 65th.

The 289 pages long Global Information Technology Report 2016 estimates the countries' capacities for the use of ICT for economic growth and well-being, and Singapore, Finland and Sweden have proven to be the leading countries of the world regarding networked readiness this year as well.

The USA, Singapore, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel are seeing the biggest economic benefits from investing in digital innovations, according to the report, which also shows that it's individuals, rather than businesses or governments, who stand at the forefront of the digital revolution.

Haiti, Burundi and Chad placed last on the list.
