Fiat remains dedicated to Serbia – Government supporting the Italian investor

The company Fiat will remain dedicated to its operations in Serbia, announced the Fiat Group and the Government of Serbia on July 1, 2016, after the meeting between Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and CEO of Fiat Alfredo Altavilla in Turin.

- Fiat Automobiles Serbia and our factory in Kragujevac are very important to our industrial production. The company Fiat confirms its dedication to Serbia – said Altavilla.

Vucic and Altavilla emphasized the importance of joint investments in Serbia and the factory Fiat Automobiles Serbia in Kragujevac, as well as of the constant presence of the Fiat Group in Serbia, which both parties had committed and obliged to. Altavilla pointed out the continual support and the contribution that Serbia and Prime Minister Vucic had always given to the FCA Group in Serbia.

During the conversation, it was said that the outlook of the industry in the years to come and the competitiveness of the FIAT 500L model within its segment during the “life cycle of an automobile” would enable Fiat Serbia to plan for the factory to operate continually and to contribute to the strengthening of Serbia’s economy.

Vucic said that the Government of Serbia would provide full support to Fiat Automobiles Serbia in order to enable the secure future of the factory’s operation and a long-tem partnership between the Republic of Serbia and Fiat.

- We will continue with the open dialogue with our partner about the future development of the Kragujevac factory – pointed out Prime Minister Vucic and added that the development was in the best interest of all employees, the local community and the entire economy of Serbia.

During his stay in Turin, Prime Minister Vucic visited Centro Stile, the design center of Fiat, where he attended the presentation of the evolution of Fiat 500L from the first sketches to the final model.
