Tender announced for selection of financial adviser in EI Niš

Privatization Agency has announced today (January 10, 2008) public tender for selection of financial adviser for privatization of "Electronic Industry Niš", through the procedure of restructuring in that company.

Privatization Agency made the decision on restructuring of "Electronic Industry" on June 29, 2006, and the adviser will be paid from the part of donation of European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR), which was intended for promotion and acceleration of the privatization.

Government of Serbia has obtained the donation from EAR, which is administered by the World Bank, in order to promote and accelerate privatization, restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings in public and government companies in accordance with the regulations from the Law on privatization and Law on bankruptcy proceeding.

Holding corporation EI Niš - in restructuring, is an open stockholding company, it is organized as holding company that consists of 73 dependent companies. Of that number, 12 are in bankruptcy.

Total number of workers in that company is 1,333. In 2001, EI Niš had 9,006 workers.
