Unique six-seat ski lift to be opened on Zlatibor on January 11

- New modern six-seat ski lift, the unique in Seria, which can transport 3,000 skiers per hour with the length of ski track of about 1.5 km, will be opened on January 11 in ski center Tornik on Zlatibor - said the representative of Tourist Organization of Zlatibor Darko Đurović.

He pointed out that the ski lift connects three ski tracks – difficult, medium and easy, so that all skiers, both professionals and amateurs, can come to ski without waiting in the long queues for a long time like in other tourist ski centers.

The ski lift goes from the area above village of Ribnica, at 1,111 meters above the sea level, to Tornik peak, at 1,485 meters above the sea level. The ski lift is moving at the speed of five meters per second.

Construction of the ski lift is completely financed from the funds from the budget of Serbia, and the equipment worth 3.4m EUR was delivered by French company "Pomagalski", while construction works were carried out by company "Amiga" from Kraljevo.

Putting of this ski lift into operation will represent the final link in the first phase of rehabilitation of ski center destroyed in 1999 during NATO bombing.
