The Austrian Zumtobel Group has employed 14 young electrical and architectural engineers at the Center for Lighting Layout in Belgrade, and the plan is to employ up to 50 graduates in the second development phase, announced the company's representatives on June 21.

Zumtobel is one the world's best known manufacturers of LED lighting, and the young graduates had the opportunity to apply for the job at the competition announced by the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia four months ago.

The representative of Zumtobel Group Sasa Jelaca thanked the CCIS for the great help given in opening the Center for Lighting Layout in Serbia's capital and employing competent young people. He reminded that seven young graduates are still in training, whereas the other seven have already started working.

- We are satisfied with their work and their engagement and I assume that in the future the Center will expand to 50 employees, as that's what the current demands and needs of the local market are – he said and added that the Center in Belgrade will support projects in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria...

The company Zumtobel Group had a similar center in Poland, which it closed and moved to Belgrade. Jelaca said that they had decided to do so because Belgrade was located in the central part of the region in which the Austrian company was operating, which made it a much more convenient location for business activities and traveling, but also, he added, due to the quality of young people who speak foreign languages.

Zumtobel Group began as a family enterprise in 1950 and has since turned into a leading international company in the areas of innovative lighting solutions and production of lighting accessories. The group lists on the Vienna Stock Exchange (ATX) and currently employs 7,234 workers, and in 2014, it recorded a turnover of EUR 1.3 billion (EBIT EUR 41.1 million).
