Building permit for the garage in Studentski Trg St – 700 new parking spaces in the center of Belgrade

In the coming years, the entire part of the city between Zeleni Venac St, Brace Jugovica St, Republic Square and Pariska St will be turned into a pedestrian zone, pointed out Vesic.
- In the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency, a tender is currently in progress for the construction work in Obilicev Venac St. and that part will be turned into a pedestrian zone. Marsala Birjuzova St. will also be a pedestrian zone, except the garage entry and exit will be located in the street. The turning of these streets into pedestrian zones requires new parking spaces, which is why we'll build a few garages for that purpose.
Vesic said that the construction works would be synchronized and enable the citizens to come to the pedestrian zone and leave their cars there. He added that the construction of a garage in Kosancicev Venac St. was also planned, near Branko's Bridge, “so the citizens may expect a much larger number of parking spaces and more comfortable parking in the city's center in the future”.
While talking about the renewal of the garage in Obilicev Venac St, Andrija Cupkovic, the manager of PUE Parking Servis, said that the setting of 62 piles at the depth of nine meters was in progress.
- This garage hasn't been invested in for the past 40 years and we will reconstruct it by the end of this year. We will raise four new mezzanines and create 220 new parking spaces this way. The garage will get an elevator, solar panels, free electricity for the needs of the garage and chargers for electric cars. The works are in progress on the garages in Zeleni Venac St. and Masarikova St., which will be completely reconstructed by local companies with a 15-year guarantee – pointed out Cupkovic.
