Cooperation between China and Serbia strengthening – President of China's visit bringing new agreements

The Government of Serbia will sign around 20 agreements and protocols with China on the occasion of the coming visit of the president of China Xi Jinping to Belgrade.

The Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said for TV Pink that it was a very important visit for Serbia and that, among other things, an agreement on the construction of the Surcin-Obrenovac section would be signed.

- It's a done deal already. We will also be talking about the continued modernization of the Belgrade-Budapest railway, and there will also be agreements about the industrial zone and in the area of culture – said Mihajlovic.

According to her, in this way Serbia will create an environment for engaging local companies an show that, as a country, it is indispensable.

Talking about the relations between Serbia and China, Mihajlovic said that it was most obvious in the example of Zelezara.

- The Chinese are investing the most in the infrastructure, very rarely do they invest in companies. We are the only country in this part of Europe in which China has decided to invest its capital. This speaks to their trust in our country and their readiness to continue and expand our relations – she said.
