Truck lite Europe Gmbh delays the construction of Cuprija factory again – Investment announced for 2017

The Memorandum of Understanding on the construction of a Truck lite Europe Gmbh factory was signed in March 2013 by the then First Deputy Prime Minister, now Prime Minister at the Government of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, the director of Truck lite Europe Gmbh in Serbia Sven Mühlhausen and the president of the Municipality of Cuprija Ninoslav Eric.

- The investment of the German company hasn't fallen through, as some would like. Due to its becoming an acquisition of one of the wealthiest American families, that is, of the investment fund of the brothers Koch, Truck lite Europe Gmbh has delayed coming to Cuprija till 2017. This is also stated in the annex to the agreement signed by the company and the Government of Serbia – said Paunovic and added that “following the elections, there has been a delay in deadlines, and the American-German giant should already start investing in Cuprija in a few months.”

The Truck lite Europe Gmbh in Cuprija, as the agreement states, should employ 500 workers and its investment in the value of EUR 11 million would make it one of the biggest investors in Cuprija.

The German company has already delayed its investment once, due to the change in the ownership structure. At the end of November 2015, they announced the construction of the factory in 2016.
