Italian company "Fulgar" to open unit in Zrenjanin in January 2008

Italian company "Fulgar", one of the largest European manufacturers of synthetic fibers for textile industry, announced that it would open the first production units in the Zrenjanin business zone in January.

Management of that company, after several postponements of the start of production, which was first announced for September 2007, announced the technical reception of the first unit. Total of 80 workers are hired for the initial phase of production.

On the occasion of the contract signing, it was announced that "Fulgar" would invest about 8.5m EUR in Zrenjanin in the first phase, whereas the announced investment for the final phase amounts to about 20m EUR with the hiring of 350 workers.

However, coordinator for economy of Municipality of Zrenjanin, Ivan Dević, expresses doubt about readiness of "Fulgar" to start production before March 1st. According to his words, the facility is not yet ready for production and neither the approaches to the production hall have been built nor lighting system installed.

"Fulgar" rented 6 ha of land in October 2006 and announced rental of another 4 ha. According to the announcement, production units of 13,000 square meters were supposed to be built during the initial phase, whereas total surface of all production units that should be built is 36,000 square meters.
