New ideas for the development of the region and Europe – The First Congress of European Managers opens in Budva

- There is a need for quality leaders, and not just in the Balkans. The world and Europe are facing challenging times, which is even more apparent in the Balkans – said Raickovic while opening the two-day congress of managers.

He said the the Balkans hadn’t always done the best in turbulent times, and that the economic prospects of the region were such that all the countries had big debts, big unemployment rates and were dependent on importing.

- We can’t expect anyone to solve these issues but us. It is us who need to contribute to the development of the region and Europe with new ideas – said Raickovic.

He expressed his belief that the congress would not only be a nice event, because the managers had gathered in order to see which way associations of managers should go and to be proactive, but also to be recognized and give their contribution, to make competence, expertise and results the conditions for the development.

- There are two choices for them, waiting for the outcome or acting within their capacities and improving the outcome. Managers are not the kind of people who wait for the outcome – estimated the president of the Association of Montenegrin Managers.

Raickovic said that the goal was not to burden the current generations and the future ones by past conflicts, backwardness and permanent poverty. He said that he hoped instead that the cooperation and connectedness of managers would contribute to the respectability of their voice, the voice that calls for cooperation and prosperity of the region.
