The stockholders of the Norwegian company Opera Software have accepted the offer by a Chinese consortium, which estimates the value of that company at 10.5 billion SEK (1.1 billion EUR), Opera announced on Wednesday, May 25.

The offer has been accepted by stockholders which represent 90.6% of common stocks and have 90.9% of voting rights, states the announcement of the Norwegian company, as quoted by AFP.

Nevertheless, the Chinese consortium, headed by the Golden Brick Silk Road investment fund, is still waiting for the green light by the American and Chinese regulatory bodies, before it can finalize the takeover process of the world's fifth most popular web browser.

The Chinese consortium which also includes Yonglian fund and companies Beijing Kunlun Tech and Qihoo 360 Technology, needed to enhance its offer in mid-April, as it hadn't received the necessary 90% of support.

Opera says that they have over 60 million desktop users and nearly 120 million monthly users on Android-using devices.
