"Zelezara" representatives Visit Chinese "Tangsteel" - New Technologies Arrive in Smederevo

The "Zelezara Smederevo" manager Peter Kamaras visited "Tangsteel" in Tangsan, China, a branch of the "Hesteel" steel mill, with the factory representatives and the presidents of three representative syndicates.

The "Smederevo Zelezara" delegation had talks with the president of "Tangsteel" Vang Lanu and the company's vice-president Song Shaj about the ways of functioning of "Zelezara Smederevo" after its official takeover, the management and the new technologies used in "Tangsteel"

After taking a tour of the facility, Peter Kamaras said that he was very proud that "Zelezara Smederevo" had become a part of a team such as this.

- We have seen how "Hesteel" works. This is a company that uses procedures and technologies which are the most advanced of any that I've ever seen. I hope that we will manage to apply their knowledge and the new possibilities which are available in Smederevo as well - stated Kamaras.

He added that he was very satisfied with the managerial system, too, and the way the company treats its employees.

- This is an early phase of getting to know each other, but it has exceeded my expectations and I'm looking forward to our future cooperation. We have the company's takeover ahead of us and hard work cut out for us until then. We must identify the next steps which will, in fact, signify the beggining of the actual cooperation - Kamaras pointed out.

The president of "Tangsteel" thanked the managerial team in charge of "Zelezara Smederevo" for their efforts to put the other blast furnace to work and added that the two steel mills are from now on parts of the same family.

- I hope that after having had a tour of our factory you have a clearer image of the future that awaits you in Smederevo. With our new technology and your good management, we have a mutual goal, to become the leader in steel production in that part of Europe, which will, I hope, soon become a reality - said Vang.
