New eKapija theme bulletin, "IT - a fast-return investment", to be launched on June 7, 2016

Through discussions with representatives of leading IT companies, business associations and the government, as well as experienced professionals and experts, the latest eKapija bulletin, "IT - a fast-return investment", will point to crucial aspects of the IT sector in Serbia today, as well as to possibilities for its future development. The "IT - a fast-return investment" bulletin will be launched on June 7, 2016 - a year after the publication of a bulletin on information technologies - which is an additional opportunity for us to also review the results of Serbia's IT sector over the past 12 months.

The information technology sector is one of the most promising and fastest-growing sectors in Serbia today, as indicated by the number of Serbian companies successfully competing on the global market and the rising number of foreign investors coming to Serbia in the quest for future partners and quality workforce.

At the same time, the room for greater use of IT solutions in operations of Serbian businesses is still ample, with their implementation expected to grow at an accelerated rate in the period ahead.

The bulletin will particularly focus on the significance of trained and quality workforce in the IT industry. All statistics show that employees in the IT sector are among the highest-paid in Serbia, with a shortage of professionals increasingly being felt. Therefore, we will explore the position, significance and quality of IT education, the jobs available and the working conditions in the industry, as well as ways of competing in the global IT race from Serbia.

From their points of view, employers, recruitment agencies and educational institutions will present the image and knowledge required of a future IT professional. We will also check the way companies seek future employees and the roles social media networks and recruitment agencies have in this. We will devote particular attention to the position and the role of women in the Serbian IT industry.

Of course, we will also present successful examples of using software and hardware solutions in various business sectors and show how, and to what extent, companies benefit from them. Regardless of whether they operate in the health care, sales, logistics or finance sectors, work is practically no longer possible without using IT solutions.

Processing large quantities of information, managing increasingly complex business processes and human and material resources - along with a constant need for quicker and more precise results and cost cuts - make investing in information technologies unavoidable. CRM, HRM, e-business, ERP, BI, cloud, Big Data, DMS... have long ceased being terms used exclusively by IT experts. On the contrary, it is increasingly hard to find a company director not relying on data provided by the use of IT tools.

In addition, questions are no longer even asked about investing in data security in an era of high market competitiveness and growing threats to stability of business operations. Therefore, our bulletin will particularly address the topics of data protection and security - ways of protecting oneself from external attacks and intrusions, controlling access to data, and what to do in case of an adverse scenario.
