Tonnies interested in acquisition of IM Matijevic - Value of Novi Sad-based company estimated at EUR 200 m

(Petar Matijevic) Meat Industry Matijevic and German Tonnies are negotiating on potential methods of cooperation, it was confirmed for eKapija portal in that local company. One of the options discussed is sale of the company to German giant.

Value of the company is estimated at EUR 200 m and they explain it with the fact that Industrija mesa Matijevic was not created yesterday but it is a brand in creation for over 25 years.

They also say they will be willing to accept EUR 100-150 m for 51% ownership, if sale of entire company would not happen but only a part of it. In that case, they expect “to learn important things from German giant such as pigs breeding where Serbia significantly lags behined the European countries.”

Owner of German company, which announced huge investments in Serbia and opening of slaugthers and 10 farms visited Industrija mesa Matijevic in April.
