Interkopeks wants to build 8 mini power plants in Ljubovija, 12 million EURO, investment pays of over 10 years

Mountain rivers Ljubovidja and Trešnjica, right tributaries of the river Drine are on the way of becoming very interesting for power production.. «Interkopeks» from Ljubovija, planes to build in this canyon 8 mini power plants with total power of 17 MW. Each plant would have the power of 200 KW, up to 5 MW, and the power supply would be sufficient fro the county Ljubovija.

Value of the total investment is 12.390.000 EURO. Just from the sale of electricity the investment would pay itself off in 10 years. Of course fish breading would be included, crab breading, hunt tourism… They calculated that the net worth is 2 million EURO per year. Additional effect are the two year engaging in building operative, that is how long it would take to build the plants. This would eliminate the water torrent and prevent the flow of mud and sand into the Zvornik lake.

According to the projects and construction elaborates created by our eminent houses like «Jaroslav Černi», Building Direction of Serbia and Economic Institute, biggest lake will be on Ljuboviđa, on location Sklop, and will have the area of 120 hectares. The lake will be 4 km long, and will have 11 million m³ of water, and turbine power of 2 MW, will produce 5,2 million k+KWh of electricity. It is interesting that on the spot where the dam will be, canyon Ljuboviđa is only 35 m wide, and that is how high the dam will be.

«Iterkopeks» exports to French, Austrian and German markets and this year they are expecting the sail of their raspberries to Switzerland.
