Serbia's public debt at the end of March 2016 totals EUR 24,44 billion

Public debt of Serbia in March 2016 totaled EUR 24.44 billion which is 72 % of gross domestic product (GDP) , the Ministry of Finance of Serbia communicated.

Total direct debts of state were 22.15 billion, and indirect EUR 2.29 billion.

In February, Serbia's public debt was EUR 24.86 billion, which is 73.6 % of GDP. At the end of 2015, public debt was EUR 24.80 billion, i.e. 76 % of GDP.

The Law on budget system limits public debt share at GDP to 45 %.
