IGB Automotive Comp has commenced the construction of its new production facility in Indjija. Over the next five years, this EUR 4.5 million investment is expected to provide jobs for more than 500 new workers and ensure the launch of new product and the use of new technologies.
This facility is going to be built by the end of September 2016, right next to the existing factory.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, who attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new factory, voiced his satisfaction with the fact that the German company had decided to expand its production in Serbia, in a country that was "stable and has good workers." He reminded that the Serbian government had subsidized the German investment, which had proven to be a good decision.
Vucic noted that Serbia was on the right path to economic growth and that international financial instituations would soon revise the GDP growth forecast for our country upwards.
IGB Automotive Comp was established in 2007 by I.G. Bauerhin GmbH from Germany. It is engaged in the production of heaters for seats and steering wheels, seat occupancy sensors, seat heater cables, electriconic control units, etc.
The Bauerhin Group has production units in Germany, Czech Republic, Canada, Mexico, China and Serbia.
The company's production unit in Serbia is the biggest within the Bauerhin Group in terms of size, number of employees, and sales figures.
That is one of the largest greenfield investments in Serbia and also a great example of successful and production operations, not only on a local but also on a regional level. It employs more than 1,500 workers and produces over 16 million products a year.
