Factory "Knauf" in Surdulica has seven times larger production of insulation materials

Factory of stone wool in Surdulica, which operates within the system of company "Knauf insulation" since 2004, increased annual volume of production seven times by investing 17m EUR in the new line for production of stone wool. With 45,000 tons of insulation materials per year, it is the biggest supplier of building industry in Serbia, as well as in surrounding countries.

- That practically means that we can provide insulation materials for 60,000 houses on annual basis. Building sector in Serbia started to receive big investments and we follow that trend and, so far, we have no problem with selling our products - said Manager of factory "Knauf" in Surdulica, Robert Rupnik.

He specified that the new technology made it possible for stone wool to be delivered to construction companies as independent element of insulation and not as a ready-made product, so it could be directly build in.

In accordance with the ecological rules, the equipment that reduced emmission of harmful gases has been built in in the new line for production of stone wool. According to official data, emmission is now within the allowed limits. Factory "Knauf" in Surdulica has constantly opened open competition for financing of students of technical faculties from the south of Serbia.
