Firms from Sumadija and Pomoravlje export USD 2 billion in 2015 - EU is a key partner

Economy of the 13 municipalities of Pomoravlje and Sumadija, with Jagodina and Kragujevac, last year generated foreign trade exchange with the world totaling USD 3.5 billion while export totaled USD 2 billion.

Foreign trade surplus totaled USD 538.3 m, President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce for Sumadija and Pomoravlje, Predrag Lucic, who emphasized that a key partner in foreign trade for firms from Sumadija and Pomoravlje is the European Union (EU), said. Out total exports, 89% went to EU, Lucic said last weekend.

The biggest exporters in the region are FCA Kragujevac, Yura Corporation Raca, Pestan Aranđelovac Panasonic lighting devices Svilajnac Forma Ideale Kragujevac, Zastava Arms Kragujevac, Holding Cables Jagodina Confezioni Andrea Serbia Jagodina, Cronospan Lapovo and Agromarket Kragujevac.

These ten companies generated 85% of total exports of Sumadija and Pomoravlje, Lucic said.

The highest growth was generated in fruit exports - 22% of hunting and sporting weapons, 17,2% machine parts 11,4%, etc.
