NASA counts down until July 4 when historical impact will take part in Space, first time – defense invested by our side

At speed of 37,000 km/h, approximately 133 million kilometers from the Earth, research missiles launched from space ship "Deep impact" will plunge into comet Temple 1 on July 4.

NASA launched scientific equipment 6 months ago. The aim of the mission is that the part of the spacecraft plunge into the heart of the comet and, thus, create a crater of size of football court. If this works, the scientist will have chance to test the pramatter captivated in the comet core and get answers to the questions such as: how was the life on Earth created and in what way can we protect from the sky rocks that fly towards our planet in, maybe, threatening way?
