American company "Dupont" opened office in Belgrade

"Dupont", one of the three leading world companies in chemical industry, has opened the first office in Belgrade for territories of Serbia and Montenegro.
Commenting on the reasons for entering market of Serbia, Tieri Marin, regional manager of company "Dupont" for Central Europe, said yesterday (November 20, 2007), at the celebration that took place on that occasion, that Serbia represented one of the markets with quickest development in central and east Europe. With 4.4 billion EUR worth of foreign investments realized in 2006, Serbia was, according to his words, the second, right behind Romania.
As Marin explained, opening of the office is the first step towards investments that this company plans to realize on the market of Serbia.
Welcoming such move of company "Dupont", Predrag Bubalo, Minister of Trade, stated that it was good that American company that had 60,000 employees in 75 countries of the world was coming to Serbia because it represented good signal for foreign investors.
"Dupont" deals with production and supply of services in field of agriculture and nutrition, civil engineering, communications and transport. Its products are present on our market since 1987.
- "Dupont's" agricultural offer already includes 25 different products, among which are three corn and three sunflower hybrids, as well as high-quality soybean protein and soybean fibers for production of meat products, dairy and soft drinks industry - said Marin.
Marin also said that "Dupont" had included new corn herbicide, which is already registered for use in Serbia, and ecological insecticide in its offer and he pointed out that, instead of having one, that company would have 20 local distributors.
