Abu Dhabi got first female taxi driver

Daily newspaper "Al-itihad" announced that the capital city of United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, had got its first female taxi driver.

Soba Jakub is the second woman with that profession in all seven emirates. The first one is Ajda Sultan who became the first woman in United Arab Emirates who was allowed to drive taxi (December 2006).

Just like in other monarchies of Persian Gulf, taxi drivers are mainly Asiatics. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that forbids women to drive.
