Modernization of the railway from Nis to Dimitrovgrad , i.e. the section from Sicevo to Dimitrovgrad, 80 km long is the most mature of the projects considered by the National Committee for infrastructure which will be implemented very soon, State Secretary in the Ministry of construction, transport and infrastructure Miodrag Poledica, said.

- We are planning overall construction works on the reconstruction of the railway and electrification. This is the only section of the railway on the whole Corridor 10 from Austria to Turkey, which is not electrified – Poledica said for Tanjug

According to him, the project will be funded with 50 % by donor funds , so-called investment framework for the Western Balkans and 50% will be set aside by the European Investment Bank.
