After a first year's break of eight working days due to lack of work, workers at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia (FCAS) in Kragujevac has been back again on Monday and they continue production in three shifts. The plant trade union communicated to Beta agency that this absence is paid 65%.

- Last year we had 84 days of paid leave due to lack of work, and we are sure that this year there will be more these breaks - president of the Independent Union Zoran Markovic said.

He warned that when Fiat halts production its subcontractors in Kragujevac, halt as well and it means problem for about 5,000 workers.

Markovic said the only way out is production of another Fiat's model in Kragujevac, since potential export to the market of Russia and Kazakhstan, which has recently been discussed, would be only a short-term solution. Kragujevac-based plant, along with work in three shifts daily produces 660 vehicles per month i.e. more than 13.000 Fiat cars is produced per month.
