Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali visited the Belgrade zoo on Saturday (27 February 2016) and talked with the new director of this company, Srboljub Aleksic. On this occasion, they toured the building site for a penguinarium which should be finished by the end of this summer, Beoinfo reports.
The mayor said that the Belgrade Good Hope Garden, which is another name for the zoo in the capital city, was one of the most beautiful places in the city, adding that it had just got new inhabitants - two reindeers.
- Several important things will be done this year in the zoo. The first is the pengiunarium that should be finished by the end of summer, and we will also obtain six penguins from the zoo in Szeged. Also, we would like to regenerate the cage for big birds as well as the fence enclosing the area where bears live. So, we want this part of the city to be good looking and pleasant for both parents and children - Malid pointed out and added that the Belgrade zoo attracted over 350,000 people ever year, citing that as yet another reason why that part of the city deserved to be the most beautiful.
Sinisa Mali also expressed gratitude to Telenor Banka for finding the interest and will to help the procurement of two reindeers for the Belgrade zoo.
