SERTIC: State will cut public sector losses to about RSD 35 billion in 2016

The state will manage to reduce public sector losses this year to about RSD 35 billion, Serbian Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic said Monday, underlining that the draft law on public companies aimed to enable public companies to operate in the long run.

Presenting this draft law to the members of parliament, Sertic noted that public sector losses were huge and that its debts and guarantees cost Serbia 2.2% of GDP in 2014, adding that the goal was to cut that percentage to 0.5 by 2018.

As he added, these losses exceeded RSD 55 billion in 2013 and RSD 40 billion in 2014.
