Chrisine Lagarde appointed for second term as IMF chief

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) made a decision on Friday (19 February 2016) to reappoint Christine Lagarde as the managing director of that financial institution.

Lagarde's second five-year term as the IMF chief will commence July 5th, Reuters cited the IMF as saying in a release.

Lagarde, who was the only candidate for this position, was appointed by concensus, the IMF release reads.
