The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) hosted a plenary meeting between the representatives of the Republic of Serbia and a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday, which was attended by, among others, NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic, who represents the Republic of Serbia in the IMF, and Serbian Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic with associates.
The IMF mission led by James Roaf will be staying in Belgrade between February 18 and 26 to carry out preliminary talks about the fourth review of the standby arrangement that was approved to Serbia out of precaution on 23 February 2015.
As the NBS said in a release, the focus of the IMF mission will be current macroeconomic developments in the country, implementation of obligations envisaged by the programme for end-2015, and implementation of economic policy in the coming period. Special attention will be paid to structural reforms that should diminish fiscal risks and stimulate competitiveness and growth.
