Construction of new facility of the Italian footwear maker Progetti will commence as early as this year in Sombor, where the local self-government already allocated a building land in the industrial zone for that purpose. This is a result of finalized talks between the City and the company that employs 450 people at its production facilities in Sombor for several years now. Construction of the new manufacturing plant was announced by Mayor Sasa Todorovic and Romano Rossi, the owner and director of Progetti.

- The most important for our city and its citizens is that the new facility of the renowned Italian footwear maker will employ additional 150 workers, which will cement Progetti as the second largest employer in Sombor - said Todorovic. The Italian company in Serbia directly employs a total of 957 workers, while indirectly, through about twenty cooperators, it employs additional 2,000 Serbs. The headquarters for our country is in Vladimirci, and there is a production facility in Vrsac as well. It was also said in a public address that the construction of the new manufacturing plant would commence as soon as possible and end as early as this year, and that the factory would be completely operational no later than February 2017.
