"NS" seeds for another half million hectares in Russia

- Within next 2-3 years, the Novi Sad Farming Institute should export sunflower seeds to Russian market for 400,000 - 500,000 hectares - said the Manager of that science institution Prof. Dr. Petar Sekulić.
- In association with Zrenjanin-based oil factory "Dijamant", the talks are underway with the partners from the Volgogorod region about establishment of sunflower production and refining in that part of Russia, which has very good preconditions - said Sekulić.
On that occasion, representatives of Russian Parliament and members of the Board of Russian Duma for agriculture, Aleksandar Beljajev and Ilja Koškarjov, visited the Institute and said to the press that the long cooperation with the Institute and Serbian agriculture has great prospects to be significantly improved.
- Russian agriculture is traditional and it suits cooperation with science institutions from Serbia - said Berljajev, pointing out that his country has been importing agricultural products of genetically modified plants from Europe and America, "which is not good for citizens of Russia".
