Chinese company builds 24,000 square meter cultural center in New Belgrade and negotiates Jugoslavija Hotel reconstruction

(Jugoslavija Hotel) China's Shandong Hi Speed Group has announced that it is going to build a Chinese cultural center in Belgrade and that they are currently negotiating the reconstruction and expansion of Jugoslavija Hotel as well.
Shandong International General Manager Meng Yen told the daily Politika that architects in China were working on designs for the future Chinese cultural center with a surface area of 24,000 square meters, which will be situated in New Belgrade, in the location of former building of the Embassy of China.

- The future cultural center will look beautiful. And it will represent a bridge connecting China and Serbia - he added.

He also said that his company was interested in building highways in Serbia through a public-private partnership, that is, concessions.

Yen stressed they would also like to tender for the construction and expansion of Nikola Tesla Airport as well as for some other projects.

China's Shandong Hi Speed Group is currently working on the construction of Corridor XI in Serbia.
