Intensified control of vehicle speed

Speed will be measures with manual radars in the video surveillance systems and devices for speed measuring in control cars.

Out of populated areas, speed will be measured at critical road sections and in settlements in the vicinity of pedestrian crossings and school zones.

Radar devices will record video shots and photos of all vehicles with the speeds higher than allowed after which drivers will be halted and sanctioned for the violation or owners of vehicles will be delivered documents on violation with an invitation to pay a fee or to deliver data on a person who made violation to the authorized organizational unit of the Ministry.

It was noticed that during winter driving conditions, every speed exceed even the slightest one, significantly increases the risk of traffic accidents and that in these conditions pedestrians are the most jeopardized.

During last year, traffic police carried out two all-day activities, Snapshot marathon where, due to speed exceeds, 5300 drivers was sanctioned.
