IKEA buys land in Ljubljana - Ending of the first department store in Slovenia planned for 2018

IKEA bought land in Ljubljana-based trading area, BTC for construction of its first shop in Slovenia which will, as Swedish furniture producer hopes, will end in 2018.

Triglav upravljanje nekretninama company , a branch office of insurance company Triglav zavarovalnica has signed today a contract with IKEA totaling EUR 16 m on sale of lot and construction, Slovenian agency STA reports.

Slovenian IKEA branch office bought a lot of 84.000 m2 from Triglav, it was communicated.

Earlier this month, the mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Jankovic, has announced management of Swedish company approved in December 2015 that project of shop construction in Ljubljana.

As STA reports, IKEA is hoping construction will start in 2017 and the works should end a year later. Investment in this department store totals app. EUR 90 m, Swedish company has recently communicated for STA.
