Movie director Emir Kusturica named one of the streets in his town of Drvengrad on Mokra Gora after the best Serbian tennis player - Novak
Đoković.
- Kusturica has recently talked on the phone with Novak Đoković and he promised to come to Drvengrad to open his street as soon as his obligations allow - said the Manager of Drvengrad, Radoje Andrić.
Kusturica constantly makes surprises for the visitors of his Drvengrad on Mećavnik hill in Mokra Gora. The painting gallery is named Macola, as a symbol of respect for sculptor from Požega, Dragan Jovićević Macola, who exhibited his works here in 2005.
Restaurants and other facilities are named after Andrić's books - Lotika, Prokleta Avlija, etc. The movie hall where his latest film "Legacy" is shown daily is called Underground.
The main street in Drvengrad, with the spacious square that leads from the entrance to the Church of St. Sava carries the name of the leader among Kusturica's idols, the Nobel Prize winner - Ivo Andrić. Drvengrad also has the streets named after Ernesto Che Guevara, Diego Maradona, Fellini and Bergman, Miodrag Petrović Čkalja.
