Nineteen million passengers transported by Wizz Air in 2015 - Nearly half a million flown from Belgrade and Nis

Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air transported 19 million passengers in 2015, 3.2 million more than in 2014, the airline announced today.
Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in central and eastern Europe, obtained 11 new Airbus airplanes and created 400 new jobs last year, thus increasing the total number of employees to 2,600. This company currently operates 13 services to 11 cities in seven countries from two airports in Serbia - Nikola Tesla in Belgrade and Konstantin Veliki in Nis. In 2015, Wizz Air transported 456,879 passengers from Serbia, up 5.6% from the previous year.
Among the company's achievements in 2015 is also the listing of shares on the London Stock Exchange, a great modernization of the brand and the change of the aircraft look, a record order of airplanes from Airbus at the Paris Air Show, and the expansion of fleet to include the first A321 aircraft, which is the first airplane of that model in Europe with 230 passenger seats.
Last year, Wizz Air operated more than 400 services to 118 destinations in 38 countries. The company's fleet consists of 63 Airbus A320 and two A321 aircraft distributed across 22 operational bases around central and eastern Europe.
Wizz Air also established four new bases last year - Tuzla, Debrecin, Kosice and Lublin. The company has announced the opening of the 23rd base in July 2016 in the Romanian town of Jashi. The airline also announced the launch of 32 new services in 2016.
