Work book as a document has stopped existing as of January 1 since all data can be found in electronic form at the Central registry, Pension Fund and it became unnecessary, aged and is an extra paperwork which is cancelled, assistant minister for labor, Zoran Lazic, said.

- With new changes and amendments of the Labor Law in 2014, work book stops being valid as of January 1 this year – Zoran Lazic said for Tanjug and outlined that this is a good decision which does not have any negative consequences since in the meantime all institutions aligned their regulations with it.

- So, labor relations, contributions, Central registry of compulsory social insurance continues operating as planned – we are moving to electronic administration so work books lost their sense – Lazic underlined.

He mentioned work book as a document can still be used in some cases as a proof of previous period from a work book but he outlined that new data input in it is no longer needed.
