Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic and Andrey Arturovich Boykov, the first deputy director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, yesterday signed a protocol in Belgrade to form a regional center for the maintenance of helicopters made in Russia.

As the Serbian Defense Minister announced in a release, this center will serve to maintain the helicopters produced in Russia that are in use in the region and all around the world, while all the details and deadlines for the project implementation will be agreed upon later.
The release also reads that the protocol the two sides signed is the first document to operationalize the work on this project that was initiated during the visit of the Serbian PM to Russia in October 2015, which both sides assessed as one of the priority directions of further cooperation in the military-technical domain.
