Sweden shifts to six-hour work day

Sweden has officially introduced a six-hour work day in order to boost productivity and make workers happier, ABC portal cites Science Alert as reporting.

Employers across this Scandinavian country have started this "experiment," and they claim it will pay off in multiple ways. Workers now finish much more work than they do in eight hours and, on top of that, they have more time for themselves and their family.

The car maker Toyota, which is situated in Gothenburg, introduced the system 13 years ago, and its workers are considered the happiest in the country.

People at Filimundus, an app development company which switched to six-hour work day last year, claim that this pays off much more than an eight-hour work day.

Science Alert writes that the six-hour work day also applies to doctors and medical staff across the country.

Let us remind that a six-hour work day was first introduced in retirement homes in 2015 as an experiment, but given its success so far, it seems it will become a practice in the whole country, ABC portal reports.
