Following the decision not to sell Telekom Srbija, we are moving to plan B, which calls for complete reorganization, modernization and professionalization of the national telecom firm with a single goal - to make it capable of enduring the market competition, Serbian Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic said Sunday, 3 January 2016.
As he pointed out, Telekom Srbija is now on the market and must endure that competition if we want it to become a profitable company that can be sold at a much better price than the one offered now. Ljajic, however, stressed that given the number of employees it had when compared to its rivals, Telekom Srbija was unlikely to win that competition.
- Telenor has 1,200 employees, Vip around 900, while Telekom employs 9,000 in Serbia alone, exclusive of people working at its daughter companies in the Republic of Srpska and Montenegro - Ljajic said and added that it was necessary to have Telekom Srbija internally reorganized and provided with professional management.
