Lithuanian-Swedish consortium officially became owner of BIP

Consortium made of Lithuanian company "Alita" and "United Nordic Beverages" from Sweden has officially become the majority owner of the Belgrade Beer Industry (BIP), after it paid the money for procurement of this company.
Lithuanian-Swedish consortium bought 51.9% of stocks of BIP at the end of July for 21.4m EUR, and the final contract on the basis of which this consortium took over control package of stocks was signed yesterday (October 9, 2007).
The buyer obliged to invest 5.1m EUR in BIP prior to 2010 and it also accepted social program.
The aim of the consortium is to rehabilitate the company that has recognizable brand, that is situated on excellent location and that has large production capacity, as well as to fight for the leading position in the region by broadening assortment and investing in infrastructure.
Share of "Alita" in the consortium that bought BIP is 80%, while Swedish company participates with 20%, so that the owner of 41.25% of stocks is "Alita", whereas "United Nordic Beverages" owns 10.38% of stocks.
