Duty-free zone in Prahovo will soon obtain two factories for production of energy fuel, unique on territory of Serbia.
One of them is the factory for production of bio-diesel from sunflower oil and the other is for production of smokeless fuel from waste wood and sunflower stalks. Both of them, worth total of 20m EUR, will be built by Dutch company "Vital Planet".
Development coordinator in "Vital Planet" for the Balkans, Dragiša Racić, said that the construction of bio-diesel factory, according to the technology applied in Brasil for a long time, would start in April 2008. Procurement of sunflower required for functioning of this factory will be guaranteed thanks to 35,000 ha of cultivated fields planted with sunflower. This oleaceous plant will be simultaneously produced in Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Dutch company will build 56 such factories all around the world within next two years. The factory in Prahovo will be put into operation as the second factory of this company.
Prahovo's duty-free zone will soon obtain factory that will be processing waste wood from large Timok's area under forests. Racić says that the product of that factory will be special solid fuel pellets. That is the new ecological fuel, without smoke and carbon monoxide, three times cheaper than the heating oil.
The contract has already been signed between Dutch company and "Srbijašume", which stipulates that our company will be delivering 200,000 cubic meters of waste wood to the Dutch every year. At the same time, this factory in Prahovo will be producing pellets from waste sunflower stalks, after harvest.
