New York-Belgrade flight to operate five times a week as of June 1, 2016

GM at Air Serbia, Dane Kondic, announced that flights of the national airline at the Belgrade-New York flight which has been awaited for 23 years, will start as of June 2016, five times a week by "airbus A330" plane.

- After we get an approval of regulatory authorities, we will introduce direct flight for USA which has ben awaited in the region since 1992. According to the plan, flights to New York will be via a modern 'airbus A330'' plane and over the weekends, we will offer passengers from Belgrade to fly with Air Berlin, a close partner of Air Serbia, Kondic said for the magazine of Serbian airline, "Elevate".

This line, according to him, will contribute to the fact that the flight between the region and USA is more simple and as he said, also an indicator of growth of Air Serbia, which is what Q3 results show.

- By the end of September this year, we transported 2,03 million passengers which is an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2014 – Kondic said.

The first man at Air Serbia added that results show that more and more people opts for Serbian national airline.
