MIHAJLOVIC: Moonlighting on corridors to be banned immediately

On Sunday, November 22, 2015, the Ministry of construction, traffic and infrastructure asked from the Labor Inspectorate to intensify control on construction sites on Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 immediately so that illegal employment would be stopped and so that people could get their rights.

In the accouchement, the Ministry states that VP of the Government and the minister Zorana Mihajlovic insists on the fact that employees who work on the most important infrastructure projects in the country are protected and entitles with all the rights the law proscribes, starting from regular payment to health and safety at work.

Based on the data of the Inspectorate on results of the construction site control and issued decisions, the Ministry will undertake measures for contractors which breach the law so that construction workers would be protected.

The Ministry warns the companies which provide illegal employment will not be able to work on infrastructure projects since it is one of the criteria which places them on “black list” which comprises firms which do not pay contributions to the state, do not sign labor contracts with employees and do not take care about their health and safety at work.
