Dušan Vasiljević, manager in charge of economic issues and environmental policy in OSCE Serbia

Dusan Vasiljevic was born in 1955. He graduated from the Electrical Engineering School, University of Belgrade. In 1990, he got involved in the development of work with environmental friendly systems for the air conditioning of large spaces. In early 1990s he left for Italy to work for an Australian and English consortium. In late 1990s he was very active in the non-government environment sector and in 2001 started work for OSCE as a manager in charge of economic issues and environmental policy. He created a legislative model, unique worldwide, which was applied in Serbia in 2001 and 2002. Under the auspices of OSCE the model was promoted in 55 Member-States and evaluated as „an exceptional concept“. Since 2001, as the only national expert heading an OSCE department, Mr Vasiljevic has contributed greatly to the development of legislation and strategic programmes in the area of environment, economic development and energy safety, with special emphasis on the promotion of renewable source of energy in Serbia.
