Japanese build factory of car parts in Central Serbia

Ambassador of Japan, Ruiči Tanabe, announced opening of Japanese commercial branch office in Belgrade (JICA, GETRO) at the beginning of 2006. The experts from that organization have already arrived to Belgrade. Namely, representative of Japanese Agency for Export Promotion that works together with Serbian Agency for Export Promotion SIEPA, Komei Nakajima, announced that one of the big Japanese manufacturers of automobiles had decided to settle factory of car parts and components in Serbia. (It is either Suzuki or Toyota). That decision has been made with 80% of probability and it will be greenfield investment in the provinces of Serbia. The construction will start in autumn and it will not be built in Belgrade or enter partnership with Zastava. (Pregled)
