Representatives of the governments of Serbia and Saudi Arabia signed today in Belgrade a Memorandum of Cooperation in the tourism industry, voicing their belief that it would serve as the basis for future economic and political relations between the two countries.
Serbian Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic told the press after signing the Memorandum that it was Serbia's first interstate agreement with Saudi Arabia, adding that our country aimed to attract investors and tourists from that Arab country.

Saudi Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud stressed he was very optimistic about the future cooperation with Serbia.

- Serbia is now organizing its own investment portfolio. It is a country with a strategically good position and apt government - said the Saudi prince, who also presides the High Council for Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Saudi Arabia.

According to him, it is now up to the Serbian government and businessmen to convince investors in Saudi Arabia that Serbia is a good and stable investment destination.
