Panasonic hires, exports and contributes to Svilajnac's budget

A factory of Japan's Panasonic for the production of energy-efficient electronic components for lighting equipment in Serbia - Panasonic Elektric Works Vossloh-Schwabe Serbia (PEWVS) in Svilajnac, hires, exports and provides assistance, thus setting an example for all other foreign investors in Serbia, said Svilajnac Mayor Predrag Milanovic.
Panasonic is a serious company which employs 350 people in Serbia, Milanovic noted and added that "people get salaries on a regular basis, they are respected and paid additionally for overtime work".
In five years, Panasonic increased the number of workers in Svilajnac from 13 to 350.
Panasonic is also among the top ten exporters in Sumadija and Pomoravlje, according to the data provided by the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Kragujevac.
