320 million USD required for development of gas infrastructure in Central and South Serbia, connection of 400,000 households


Republic Minister of Mining and Energy, Radomir Naumov, director of NIS-Energogas, Milutin Prodanović, and presidents of 30 municipalities of central and south Serbia have signed, in Vrnjačka Banja, Protocol on Gas Introduction. On the same day the second phase of connection of Vrnjačka Banja to gas system started.
Energy Development Strategy of Serbia puts emphasis on increase in use of natural gas. That document, which has recently been adopted in the republic parliament, implies that gas, as the fuel of the future, should be present in another 400,000 households in Serbia. About 320 million USD is required for realization of such intensive and rapid development of gas infrastructure.
